Aerobics Jazzercise:A Fun Way To Workout


Aerobics jazzercise is a type of exercise that uses a combination of several different types of exercises. It contains movements from jazz dance, resistance training, pilates, yoga, and martial arts(especially kick boxing). It was started back in 1969 by Judi Sheppard Misset, in Evanston, Illinois. She wanted to develop an exercise program based on her love of jazz dance.

This form of exercise lends itself to fun and variety in a workout program. You get the benefits of cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and balance which all good programs offer. Depending on the location and type of class, you can be involved in various programs that emphasize dance, body sculpting, or strength training, etc.

Finding a class shouldn’t be too hard. Your local YMCA is usually a good place to checkout. You can also choose to workout at home by using DVDs that you can follow. If you are a person that gets bored easily with exercise programs, this form of exercise would probably be ideal as a way for you to stay involved with fitness. It can also be a way to socialize a little with others in a class setting.
